Raw
This collection is a showcase for Maya's technical skills as a jeweller and emphasises her commitment to conservation and sustainability in her craft. Here she reclaims broken silver clasps, hooks and chains as her raw material. Fusing them together transforms the silver into new organic shapes. Maya is an accomplished artist and uses silver to form lines in her jewellery as she would a pencil in her drawings.
Photographer Saskia Sichermann uses a dramatic jet-black backdrop to give a theatrical edge to this photo shoot, highlighting the detail of the Raw collection.
